Years ago I ran into a mathmatical formula which, as near as I can remember, calculated the desired tube length for a given bore diameter. This was probably for a tube with parallel sides, but it suggested the length range of a tube that gave the best backpressure. Anybody got this, or at least can address how tube length influences variables like backpressure and harmonics?

I am also curious how wall diameter and density influences tone. I have two mandrel-made didges and one thick walled bloodwood didg. All 3 have good backpressure. The maple mandrel didj is the thinnest, warms up the quickest, and seems to have the "simplest" voice. The Aus didj seems to project more nuances of breath and lip movements. Not sure how to describe this technically.
