An interesting article here by the actor Pete Postlethwaite on aspects of the Stolen Generation an which refers to an event in London next week:

I went to the The Black Arm Band performance at the Royal Festival Hall last night - it was an absolutely captivating and deeply soulful event which earned a thunderdously long standing ovation at the end!

Nice oportunity to go backstage and chat to the performers, and hear Gapanbulu Yunupingu from Yothu Yindi play the Gurruwiwi yidaki I had lent Mark for the show. Gapanbulu was not playing yidaki at the show but dancing.

What a brilliant night out!

Colin

I hope they take it in turns and next time Gapanbulu will play and Mark will dance

I stumbled over this old post when searching whether we've already wrote something about Murundak, Songs of Freedom, a film about the Black Arm Band.

The website is here, http://www.murundakdocumentary.com/ and one can buy the film on DVD. I'm tempted to buy it. Has anyone seen the movie yet by any chance?
