Hi folks, I've only ever had a didj that I've bought for about 25 quid. Not very expensive! And the one I like to play on has a mouthpiece which is smooth/rounded on the outside, but has a sharp edge which forms the top of the bore where I put my mouth. Is this common with 'proper' didjs? Or is the mouthpiece completely rounded? I guess I could pad it out with beeswax but I don't know how to do this and still have a good shaped hole for blowing into.

Any help/advice would be awesome.

There are many types of mouthpiece and it really comes down to what you prefer playing. I would suggest you try and play a number of other instruments in order to find what suits you and to note the difference between a cheap stick and a top of the line one.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, having had just a very quick look around the net I can see the differences between the ones I own and good ones!! I think I'll be trying to get myself along to singing sticks next year. In the meantime:- practice practice practice!!
