Sort of Meredith Monk meets Philipp Glass meets David Byrne's "The Forest".

I think many audience members with their mouths agape are as entertaining as the performer.

Just to illustrate the differences between cities in the US-- if that guy did that same act in my hometown of Cincinnati, the police would give him a ride to the local psychiatric hospital for evaluation.

Yeah, and if he did it here in San Francisco, people would barely even notice him.

Well, he started his street act in San Francisco, and seemed to do well there.
Granted, I don't believe he began performing his own works on the street until he moved to NYC.
