I thought I had already posted this but if I did, I can't find it now. Anyway, I made a didge out of PVC pipe according to online directions, tuned to D. The dimensions given on the web site worked perfectly, as it plays a true D. I decorated the didge in a very free-form style, to my own liking. I still need to sort of clean up the mouthpiece, as the wax is not even except where it needs to be, but otherwise I like my results. I'm just beginning to get the circular breathing down, but I went ahead and made a video -- much enhanced by my son playing his doumbek along with me. The sound of my playing is nothing to write home about, but would appreciate your checking it out and, if you're inclined, giving me encouraging feedback. Hi mate,

Well done on making your own didge, i remember when I was learning I attempted to concur the various sounds that can be found when playing before hitting circular breathing. I felt that having established some sort of rhythm it was easier to incorporate circular breathing. A nice slow rhythm allows you to try, gather your thoughts for a second or 3 and try again without urgency.
Good luck and have fun jamming with your son! :D
