Hello,

Here are some pictures of the first split didjeridu I made.
It was made from a fallen log I found near river Henares (this one gives the name to the town where I live: Alcalá de Henares). It is a black alder (Alnus glutinosa; Spanish name is "Aliso").
I made some mistakes but I'm happy with it anyway being my first one; it has a nice sound.
It plays in C#, first toot is E.
Measures: Lenght: 157 cm.; Mouthpiece: 29 X 27 mm (no wax); Bell: 59 X 53mm, approximately.
Weight is about 1,6 kg.

Ángel.

Nice looking stick Ángel. The walls look pretty thick at the bottom so I reckon it's quite heavy!

I'm glad you're happy with it and look forward to seeing (and hearing) your new creations.

Kyle

Hello Kyle,

This didj is not heavy at all, as it only weights about 1,6 kg! You can carry it with a single hand with little effort. This might be surprising but it is very light for an instrument being 157 cm long.

Ángel.

Yes, I didn't see that you'd mentioned the weight in your original post.
