Just uploaded - the first podcasts out of Yirrkala as a project for year 12 schoolkids. The first one is about the current government intervention and includes a couple quick clips of the community meeting and a couple of interviews including Witiyana Marika, the amazing voice from some of the Yothu Yindi traditional tracks. I haven't heard the rest yet.

Have a listen. I understand there's some listener evaluation forms to that the kids need filled out as part of their assessment, so I'll see if we can sort out a way for any of you who are interested to do that and help these kids out! ;-)

Put me down for that, Randy! I'll assess them!

If you want to offer the kids pommy penpals (part of the North London Pommy penpals collective), then I'd be happy to write/email a few of them as well.

Dan

Hey guys,
Sorry for the last minute rush, but procrastination among schoolkids (and adults) certainly exists in Arnhem Land as well. The kids are now desperate for responses for their assessment by tomorrow midday... so that's about 16 hours away. If anyone could listen to the podcasts again and respond, that'd be lovely. Questions are:

- name:
- rate the podcast on a scale of 1 to 5
briefly say why

- rate the song they wrote and recorded, 1 to 5
why

- how would you recommend improving this or any future podcasts

http://web.mac.com/yirrkalayolngu/iWeb/ ... chive.html

It'll be about an hour of time, but would be much appreciated by the kids.

Thanks - maybe email it to me, sorted by the name of the student would be best.

By the way, I have no affiliation with this, so you can be honest! I commented in my own responses that the production value could be better, in terms of micing and mixing.
