Hello to everybody!I'm Volod from Romania.I have recently discovered the fine sound of the didgeridoo,and I have bought my firs didgeridoo.It's made of bamboo 1,2 m and about...2-3 cm at the top.I'm not a specialist,but i hope it'll work ok.I discovered the didgeridoo while I was making searches about the kargyraa throat singing style that uses harmonics and overtones too.
So...I watched many video tutorials from youtube on how to play didgeridoo,but...some parts i could not understand how they are made...so I'm asking for your help if you have time.Many thanks and i wish you all that is best!

Hi seriouschris!thank you for your welcoming!I don't know any other didgeridoo players from Roumania.I'm not sure if other romanians discovered yet the beauty of this instrument and play it.
About the didgeridoo...I was thinking and I think in Roumania there is an instrument similar to didgeridoo.But is much longer and the sound is different.I'll try to find some samples and post them.The instrument is called "bucium".very old instrument used by the native people of Roumania,the Dacs.It was mostly used by shepherds for signalling and communication in the forested mountains, as well as for guiding sheep and dogs.
Anyway I'll be glad if I found other Romanians that play the didj

This is usually 1.5m to 3m in length and made of well-seasoned deal, maple, ash, lime or hazel wood which is conical or cylindrical bored, slit lengthways, hollowed out and then glued together. In the north it can be made of galvanised iron and folded like a trombone. As it does not have valves or finger holes it can only play the pitches in the natural harmonic series.

This image, with the clearer banding on the instruments, makes me even more curious about their construction - maybe the lime sap in the bark forms a natural seal, just a wild guess
